Siber Star Siberians
Our Story
Siber Star Siberians is a small, family-owned business operated by Cassie Pedersen and her parents, Mark and Cammie. Located in Vancouver, Washington, we have been showing Siberians for the last twelve years and made the transition to professional breeding two years ago.
Our story begins when Cassie, who is on the autism spectrum, began suffering from frequent, debilitating anxiety attacks. When it was agreed that an emotional support cat might help alleviate her symptoms, it was crucial to select a breed that was intelligent, loyal, and gentle. After careful research, we chose a female Siberian named Addi to serve this incredibly important role.

After Addi joined our family, she provided Cassie with immediate relief. A devoted lap-cat, Addi would cuddle with Cassie for hours, and the soothing sound of her purrs would ease the stress from sensory overload. The two quickly became inseparable and our fascination with this incredible breed quickly grew.
Addi was only ever intended to be a pet, but as time went on, her charismatic personality, beauty, and purebred status inspired us to begin taking her to cat shows. We had known all along our cat was something special and the judges agreed! Addi would go on to earn the title of Supreme Grand Master in TICA, First In The Region, and Grand Household Pet in CFA before she retired.
We’ve had other champions since, such as Aurora (a TICA and CFA champion as of 2023), and Luka, who was a three-show Grand in Premiership. Addi’s presence continues to be felt in our cattery and we’re proud to say some of our kittens are her descendants, including our up-and-coming show cat Priah, who is working on her title. Both Aurora and Priah currently serve as queens in our cattery.

Because Siberians are still considered a rare breed here in the United States, we made the decision to begin breeding. It is our firm belief that other members of the neurodivergent community and those with special needs can greatly benefit from Siberian ownership in the same way Cassie did. As a breed, their intelligence and loyalty combine to make them incredibly sensitive to their owner’s emotional needs as well as easily adaptable to any environment. It’s not an understatement to say the Siberian Forest Cats breed has changed our lives. It’s our continued goal that more families will to be able to experience the same comfort and satisfaction these cats have brought to ours.
